The Vienna Philharmonic is the only bullion coin in the world that is denominated in euros.
On February 1st 2008 at the World Money Fair in Berlin the Austrian Mint introduced the Silver Vienna Philharmonic bullion investment coin. The coin design is almost identical to the gold Philharmonic coin, with a few additions. The inscription "1 Unze Feinsilber," 1 ounce pure silver is located below the representation of the pipe organ in the Golden Concert Hall on the obverse side of the coin.
The obverse also bears the country of issue Republic of Austria, "Republik Oesterreich," the year of issue 2008, and the face value of 1.5 euros. The reverse side of the coin, bears the popular design of the bouquet of instruments, with the word silver, "Silber," immediately above.
The silver coin also has a smooth edge, (whereas the gold Vienna Philharmonic coin has a rilled edge.)
